"A
bridge between God and man as the varied and practical expression of the body of
Christ on earth" *
In
practice, that means that we don't want, in any way, to be a barrier between
people and God. More than that, we want to live our lives in a way that will
help others toward God.
| If you join us for any activities or events you won't need to
dress up, we're very relaxed. You're highly likely to get a cup of tea (or
coffee) and a bit of a chat. |
 |
It's not
that we're a social club (you can see what we believe) but
we are sociable!
When he
was asked what the most important commandment was, Jesus replied:
"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with
all your mind and with all your strength,' the second is this: 'Love your
neighbour as yourself.'" (Mark 12 vs 30,31 NIV)
As the
questioner recognised, keeping these commandments is more important than any
ritual, religious service or good deeds that we can do. We will be judged by
whether or not our lives are motivated by these two commandments.
As a
church we want to praise and worship God and do his will - the beginning of
which is to reach out to our fellow man.
