A series of meetings has been organised over the next few months by the Bridges Christian Fellowship with the theme of Because of Jesus. The meetings are open to everyone who is interested in finding out more about what Jesus can do in peoples lives and those who just want an evening of fellowship.
The series begins on Friday 27th February at the Radisson Hotel at 8.00pm when the guest speaker will be Pastor Phelim Doherty.
Phelim Doherty left the Maiden City in 1982 to train at The Royal Veterinary College in London. He worked as a vet for four years in England before returning to his native city in 1991. He committed His life to Christ in 1993 having witnessed the transforming power of Christ in the life of his wife Nicola. He continued to work fulltime as a vet before answering a call to church ministry in 2004. Since then Phelim has served as pastor of River City Church whose growing congregation are drawn equally from both traditions in the city. He also leads a smaller church based in Strabane.
The second meeting will be held in the canteen in the LCDI building on Saturday 28th March at 7-30pm when Barry Barnett from Jews for Jesus will present Christ in the Passover. This meeting will include a meal while Barry explains how the symbolism of the Passover points towards Christ.
The third meeting will be held on Friday 10th April(Good Friday) at the Radisson Hotel at 8.00pm when the guest will be Pastor Cornel Haures
from Siret Romania . He also ministers in Moldova Ukraine and Russia . Pastor Haures has a passion to see lives transformed and changed by the gospel.
